Latex balloons are often mistaken for being plastic, however they are made from latex rubber which is 100% natural and comes from a rubber tree known as Hevea brasiliensis.
The process of collecting the white liquid sap known as latex does not damage the growth of the rubber tree so there is no risk of deforestation involved.
We use high quality materials in our displays and all our latex balloons are 100% biodegradable. Research has shown that latex balloons can degrade at the same rate as an oak leaf!
Foil balloons can be recycled in many different ways in order to reduce waste. Once you're done you can deflate these using a straw and re inflate to use again. You can even use them for gift wrapping or turn them into new decorations such as tinsel!
Card Factory also offer a recycling programme where you can take your foil balloon to be recycled and remoulded into new products. Check out the TerraCycle website to find out more!
The helium used in balloons is actually a by product of the helium gas industry and cannot be used for science or medical purposes. If balloon gas was not re used in balloons, then the helium would be wasted!
When released into the atmosphere helium has no affect on the environment.
As balloon professionals we have taken a stand to not support balloon releases. This can be detrimental to the environment and we encourage our customers to dispose of their balloons safely and not let go.
We actively encourage our customers to pass on their balloons after their event. Once you are done with your balloon display please do consider passing this on to someone else to use and enjoy and give them a second life!
All of equipment is reusable, we use returnable wooden stands on our centrepieces to not only keep the cost down for our clients, but to also protect our planet.
